1. Information we collect

We collect the following, depending on how you use BookMyBib:

• Account information — name, email, phone number and password when you create a runner or organizer account.
• Registration information — the details you provide when registering for an event, which may include date of birth, gender, address, t-shirt size, and any custom questions the organizer adds. Some events request optional medical information and emergency-contact details; where you provide these, they are collected to be shared with the event organizer for participant safety.
• Payment information — payments are processed by our payment partner PayU. We receive confirmation of payment status and a reference, but we do not collect or store your full card details.
• Usage and device data — basic technical information such as pages viewed and approximate, aggregate analytics that help us understand and improve the platform.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to:

• create and manage your account and process your event registrations;
• pass your registration details to the organizer of the event you register for;
• process payments and issue confirmations through PayU;
• send you registration confirmations, event updates and service messages;
• publish official results when an organizer chooses to publish them on BookMyBib;
• keep the platform secure and improve it using aggregate analytics.

3. Sharing with event organizers

When you register for an event, the details of that registration — including any optional medical and emergency-contact information you chose to provide — are shared with the organizer of that event so they can run it, contact you and, where applicable, provide for your safety. Each organizer is responsible for how they handle your data under their own privacy practices. We share your data only with the organizers of events you actually register for, and with service providers (such as PayU and our email/SMS providers) that help us operate the platform.

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information where required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users and the public.

4. Payments

Card and other payment details are entered directly with PayU, which is responsible for securing that data under its own policies. BookMyBib receives only the transaction outcome and reference needed to confirm your registration.

5. Cookies and sessions

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, secure your session, and measure aggregate usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work without them.

6. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the platform, comply with legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our terms. Registration and results records associated with an event may be retained by the organizer independently of your BookMyBib account.

7. Your rights and choices

You may access and update your account details at any time, and request correction or deletion of your personal information, subject to legal and legitimate business retention needs. 8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your data and to respond promptly to any incident.

9. Children

BookMyBib is intended for adults. Where a minor participates in an event, their registration should be completed and managed by a parent or guardian, who is responsible for the information provided.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you.
